Latent hydraulic binder to IS 16714 and EN 15167-1, for durable, low-carbon, low-heat concrete.
GGBS replaces cement at anything from 30 to 70 percent and, at the top of that range, cuts the embodied carbon of the binder by more than half. It also brings excellent sulphate and chloride resistance and a much lower heat of hydration, which is why it is the default choice for marine structures and mass pours.
Early strength develops more slowly, so cold-weather pours need planning.
